His statline of 8.6 points, 7.1 assists and 6.8 rebounds a game won’t win him Rookie of the Year honors, but it’s easy to forget that Ball is still only 20 years old, and he’s only 61 official NBA and college starts removed from high school basketball. The Lakers are currently only two games out of playoff position, and while it’s likely they’ll miss out on the postseason, we’re beginning to see that team built around Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma has to potential to be very competitive as they develop.
